Freewheels, sprag clutches, overrunning clutches, anti-run backs, one way clutches - Whatever you may call them these mechanisms will function in one of 3 ways in a machine.
1) Indexing - To convert an oscillating or reciprocating motion into a one way intermittent movement on a shaft. (eg press feed, textile machine, wave generator, etc)
2) Overrunning - To allow one shaft to overrun or overspeed another shaft without driving the lower speed or stationary shaft (e.g starter, two speed drive, dual drives.)
3) Backstopping - To prevent a shaft being driven backwards. (e.g safety feature, air conditioning fan, security, combined with indexing clutch to increase accuracy)
The clutches below are all shaft mounted so do not require additional bearing support, sprockets, pulleys or gears can be mounted on the smaller diameter which is keywayed, lubrication can be changed from oil to grease or vice versa in most cases. Prices quoted are less than 10% of normal price to end users. Contact us for operational data/dims etc.
