Polish without spit: 21st September, 2009

What's going on?

A hexagonal steel drum mounted between bearings is loaded with components and tumbled with or without abrasive material and with and without a liquid. The effect after several hours is to polish the surfaces of the components which can vary from gemstones to welded parts to metal stampings.

The drive in this case is a 0.75Hp 3 phase motor with mechanical variator and helical speed reducer.

Worth noting!

Whilst a fixed speed geared motor is available, the provision of variable speed affords greater flexibility of use.

Combidrive can supply mechanical variators up to 150Hp and fixed speed geared motors.
